An Illustrative Journey

I want to give viewers a look into my imagination. I've always been someone who’s found themselves up in the clouds, so it's fitting that’s what my thesis conceptually turned into.

I use the visual of stairs, doors and whimsical architecture to express all the possibilities that lie in front of an artist. There are so many paths, each leading to something special. There are no wrong turns up in the clouds.

I also wanted to display a quote from the book “The Creative Act” by Rick Rubin. “Each day is about showing up, building things, breaking them down and surprising yourself”. There are no mistakes in art, only new beginnings. Sometimes we need to break things down in order to surprise ourselves. Sometimes once we’ve been building for hours, we realize we don't actually like what we created. What's beautiful is at least we showed up to create. I love when I surprise myself and allow myself to just have fun, that is how these pieces were created.

I am so pleased to be able to display these illustrations on this front desk, so that all who enter our building will be greeted with a pop of extreme color!
