The Missing Ingredient

The Missing Ingredient is a stop motion film inspired by my love for the medium of textiles. In a world where every day seems more bleak than the last, my goal was to create a lighthearted and cozy short film to soften the edges. I want people to be able to engage with my film at their own pace and appreciate the time and craftsmanship it took to complete it. Each environment, character, set piece, and prop was hand made with care.

Bio

Madison Ostrowski is a stop-motion and 2D animator, VisDev artist and sound engineer. They combine textiles with animation and sound to create fantastical and colorful works that delight the senses. Each animated project is a puzzle in bringing physicality into a digital workspace. Crochet, sewing and sculpting are married to create characters that come to life. Madison’s goal is to make whimsical artworks that innovate on the animation pipeline and inspire others to embrace craft as a meaningful form of art.
