Mountain’s Memories: Stories From My Family & Me

Mountain’s Memories: Stories From My Family & Me, is a short graphic memoir anthology that takes place in Bethlehem, New Hampshire. My folks on my mom’s side have called this rural, White Mountain area home for generations and have witnessed some of its history. If there is one thing that I love the most about my family is our stories. Each chapter is a different story that highlights fantastical moments that we would often tell around the fire pit.

When it comes to materials, I stuck with traditional inking using crowquills and brushes throughout yet experimented when it came to color. What I painted with depended on the vibrancy and tone of each individual chapter.

I took on this project in order to celebrate what I find fascinating about this place in its fusion of natural and artifactual power. Personally, I strived to create my own artifacts for my future self to enjoy when I soon live on my own on new horizons.

Bio

Mac Craig is a passionate illustrator and song writer. Both art and music inform and drive each other in their creation practice. When they write a song, they picture what it looks like and when they paint a picture, they imagine what it sounds like. Each is a piece of film. Everything moves and shifts, and feels. Everything has a story.

Their goal is to continue creating a variety of work. They love illustrating books, comics, posters, and concept design. In the audio sphere, they enjoy creating songs with vocals, instrumental songs, as well as video game and film soundtracks.
