Freezing Point: Pro Patria Mori

Freezing Point: Pro Patria Mori is a short narrative mech tactics game about empire and identity. It engages with the complex place between systems of power, the difference between birthplace & home, trans identity within colonialism, and themes of plurality & fractured self. It's a work about the narratives we tell ourselves and the narratives that construct our national & cultural identities. Freezing Point: Pro Patria Mori forces the audience to reckon and face these dissonant themes alongside our characters.

FP:PPM is a collaborative work between Hope Uribe and Lily Ann Ewald.

Bio

Hope Uribe is a game developer who wears many hats. The most common ones are 3D rigger, 2D artist, and writer. They enjoy working within and supporting the artistic pipeline from concept to execution. They’re interested in games that are narrative-driven, whether they be obtuse, succinct, grand, or convoluted. In their free time, they write and draw comics.

Lily Ann Ewald is a general game developer specializing in 3D environment art. She is interested in the combination of games, radical politics, and exploration of concepts of self. She is drawn to the view of games as holistic works, creating tone and experience through prolonged interactions with mechanics and art, and brings a background in fine art and political theory into her practice as a professional game artist.
