Scrap Pack
In my work I use materials striped from their initial purpose to hobble together a cast of misfit characters to showcase those who are the outcasts within outcast groups. I obtain most of my materials from scrap bins filled with old machinery, scraps from cars, or parts of sculptures demolished. They are designed to be easy to overlook, or better put, looked through so the viewer will have to focus more and be with the being more intensely and intimately. You are invited, and encouraged, to sit and hang with them as a part of their community for as long as you'd like before they are inevitably broken down back into scrap after the show.
Bio
Dillon “D” Islami, sometimes referred to as FrogManThe, is a born and raised resident of New York State. Growing up during his free time he’d tinker around with lawnmower engines and eventually got to work on his grandpa’s ’86 Pontiac Fiero in the hopes of restoring it. In mid 2020 during the pandemic he started getting back into art as a hobby and took an art elective junior year of high school. His projects got him into exhibitions in the Parish Art Museum and the Living Gallery in Brooklyn. After a concussion he had to quit drawing and switch to sculpture.
