I am interested in gadgets and doo-hickeys, particularly those that are too impractical to manifest in society. In my practice, I create ‘uncanny’ functional objects that feel close to reality but could only make sense in an alternate world.

Enter Dr. Axel Rod, a mad scientist trapped in an uncanny valley and searching for answers.

Having constructed a camera trap and photographed the eyes of passers-by, Axel Rod begins a personal specimen catalog for his study.
