Enva-Lope: Return to Sender

Ever since I was a child, Video Games have been an integral part of my life.

My Thesis Enva-Lope: Return to Sender is a Pitch Deck for a 3D-Platforming Video Game where you play as a mailman sending natural disasters during a climate apocalypse caused by the Government that rules the world of Aegis. You play as a rabbit named “Enva” who works for the government funded program “S.N.A.I.L” (Society of Nobles Aiding International Letters) which is a mail carrying system used as their only method of communication between the common folk due to the harsh weather conditions. Enva finds an extinct snail named Lope, and is tasked to free his species from captivity from the government. Throughout their journey, they discover the ancient history of the world of Aegis while sending letters and boxes to everyday people.

Video Games have been an important part of my development as an illustrator. I took inspiration from the 3-D platformer for their mascot stylized main characters, to the crazy and dynamic worlds that revolve around them. Making my own concepts and ideas for a game has helped me make multiple ideas while inspired by my contemporaries while staying true to my own style. Making different variations of every asset I made throughout this semester has prepared me to take this workflow into my own personal career!

Bio

Camden Crocker is an New England Illustrator and Indie Comic Artist who has a fixation of the interactive medium of video games. His work uses high contrast colors and gritty textures reminiscent of the early 3D gaming era of the late 1990s- early 2000s, which was around the same time he grew up playing video games. However, when it comes to his artistic process he always strives to have fun with what he’s making. Using different traditional mediums and digital methods to make sure that his work has just the right amount of character!
